GRANTS AND FELLOWSHIPS

• McKnight Foundation - I received the 2010 McKnight Artist Fellowship for Photographers. My project, Sanitary Landfills aka Dumps, examines the big business of trash and its evolution from the open pit dumps of the 1970s.
• Bush Foundation - I was among 38 finalists from a field of 500 applicants for the Bush Artist Fellowship. View the list of finalists (PDF).
• Minnesota State Arts Board - I received the 2010 Artist Initiative Grant to prepare photographs from the Sanitary Landfills Project for exhibition in August 2010 at Normandale Community College, and attend Fotofest 2010 to broaden the project's national visibility.
